Description

One of our many native plants in the aster family, California dandelion, or bigflower agoseris, produces a basal patch of leaves from which a 1.5′-2′ tall yellow, dandelion-like flower arises. It is adaptable and tolerant of many soil and habitat types, and can be found in both full sun or part shade. The fruit is a fluffy achene, producing large, showy seed heads. Attractive to pollinators, especially native bees.

Seed Germination Instructions

No pretreatment required. Sow outside in fall to early spring. Germination may be improved with 30 days cold stratification.
