Description

This lovely flowering plant in the lily family is also referred to by the common name “drops of gold,” because of the golden-orange berries it produces. It is found growing in shady, moist areas, generally in the understory of an oak woodland or conifer forest. Although the flowers are often obscured by the leaves, they are cute, white to green, bell-shaped “fairy bells” that droop and hang from the tips of the leaf branches. Grows 18″-30″ tall. Blooms April-May. Prefers average to rich soil with good drainage.

Hooker’s fairybells (Prosartes hookeri) seed packets contain approximately 35 seeds.

Seed Germination Instructions

60-90 days cold-moist stratification. Sow outside in fall.
