Description
One of our many native plants in the aster family, California dandelion, or bigflower agoseris, produces a basal patch of leaves from which a 1.5′-2′ tall yellow, dandelion-like flower arises. It is adaptable and tolerant of many soil and habitat types, and can be found in both full sun or part shade. The fruit is a fluffy achene, producing large, showy seed heads. Attractive to pollinators, especially native bees.
California dandelion (Agoseris grandiflora) seed packets contain approximately 120 seeds per packet.
