Description
Largeleaf avens is a happy wildflower with a wide distribution across the United States. It is tolerant of a wide variety of soil types, but prefers medium to moist soil conditions. Largeleaf avens puts on a colorful display in the spring with bright yellow flowers with five nearly round petals. It is a perennial plant that grows 1′-2′ tall when in full flower. Most commonly found growing along streambanks, in moist meadows and along forest edges. The flowers are attractive to a wide range of pollinators.
