Description
This lovely flowering groundcover is often found in the understory of moist, shady coniferous forests at low to mid elevations. It sprouts from a creeping rhizomes, has hermaphroditic, white, spike-like flowers and palmately divided leaves. Spikes of interesting seed pods adorn the plants in mid summer as the plants start to wane and die back in late summer to fall. A lovely plant for a shade garden. This species is wind pollinated.
Vanillaleaf (Achlys triphylla) seed packets contain approximately 40 seeds per packet.

60 days cold-moist stratification. Sow outside in fall to late winter.
